1.    Do you sell customer information to other companies?
Your information is safe and secure with Frost Cutlery Company. Frost Cutlery does not sell, rent or exchange this information for commercial purposes.

2.    Is ordering on your site secure?
FrostCutlery.com uses industry-standard encryption when handling your personal information. An icon resembling a padlock is displayed on the address bar of most browsers during secured transactions, so you can see it for yourself. Credit card information will not be stored on our servers once we process your order.

3.    If I want to order from your site but do not want to do it online, can I?
Yes, if you are more comfortable placing an order via phone or mail, you may certainly do so. For mail-in orders, click here to obtain a printable order form... send it, along with a check or money order, to the following address:

   Frost Cutlery
   c/o Sales Dept
   P.O. Box 22636
   Chattanooga, TN 37422

You may also speak to a sales rep by calling 1-800-251-7768, Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm Eastern. Note that personal checks will be held up to 3 weeks to clear.

4.    How do I contact you?
Click here for complete contact information.

5.    I am looking for a particular knife, I don't see it on your site, can you get it?
We do have access to a large number of knives by various manufacturers, while we do not generally have them in stock, we will certainly try to get one for you.

6.    Do you give out or sell customer information?
We will never give out your personal information for any reason. We do not rent, sell or share our customer information with anyone outside of FrostCutlery.com, unless necessary to complete an order.

7.    Do you offer a catalog?
Yes and No. We no longer offer a printed catalog... it has been replaced with a CD-ROM catalog, which will work on nearly any home computer.

8.    What shipping methods do you offer?
We currently use UPS as our standard option. Orders going to a PO Box will be sent via US Mail. Shipping given here may not reflect actual postage costs if that is the case.

9.    How long will it take to get my order?
Items that are in stock will usually ship within 5-7 business days, and will be received 5-7 business days thereafter. We will try to notify you if an item you ordered is not available, and may ship a partial order with adjusted pricing and shipping.

10.    Will I be notified if my item is not in stock?
We will notify you, usually on the same day you placed the order if an item is not in stock, we will call or send you an email.

11.    Do you ship to APO, FPO's?
We do ship to military bases around the world, however there may be special circumstances when shipping to these locations, so we recommend contacting a sales rep and placing your order via telephone.

12.    What is your warranty policy?
We have a lifetime warranty on factory defects. (broken backspring, broken frame, or broken blade, if it is due to bad steel.) Misuse is not covered.
Click here for detailed warranty info, as well as a complete list of our company policies.

13.    What brands do you carry?
We carry Case, Hen & Rooster, German Bull, Steel Warrior, Flying Falcon (Frost), Blade Master, Buck Creek, and many more. A complete list of available brands is located under the "Shop by Brand" heading on the righthand side of this page.

14.    Where is the knife made?
We import our products from all around the world. You may contact one of our sales reps to find out where a particular knife was constructed.

15.    What kind of steel do you use?
Most of our knives are either 420 or 440 stainless steel... Buck Creek's and some of Hen & Rooster's blades are made of carbon steel (Hen & Roosters will have a "C" after the item number to indicate this.) If you still don't know, you may contact one of our sales associates.

16.    What is the handle Material?
Look to see what lettering is at the end of the item number. A few examples:

Wood  -  CW, FW, BPW, WW, GPW, W
Bone  -  BSB, RSB, SB, BNG
Corelon  -  24K, BL, AQ, STAR

17.    What is the difference between Corelon and Celluioid?
Corelon is much more durable and has higher tensile strength. Celluloid has a better visual quality and has deeper levels of design detail.

18.    What is the blade length?
Item descriptions tend to have only the closed length for folders, or the overall length for others.

19.    How do I close a locked blade?
We carry knives with a variety of locking mechanisms, most of which use a simple mechanism that is easy to figure out. There are, however, several that may not be as obvious to first-time users:

Copperhead Lock: Close the primary blade of the knife. Press down on the closed blade to release the lock on the extended blade, and nudge the extended blade out of the fully opened position.

Frame Lock: Hold the knife flat in the palm of your hand. Take your thumb and press down on the notched piece of the metal frame into which the blade folds, and gently nudge the blade out of the fully open position with your index finger along the back of the blade.

Liner Lock: Hold the knife flat in the palm of your hand. Take your thumb and press down on the metal strip sticking out of the liner, and gently nudge the blade out of the fully open position with your index finger along the back of the blade.

Lockback: Turn the knife so that the sharp edge is facing downward. Along the back edge of the knife, there will be a deep gap in the handle, through which the metal backspring will be accessible. Press on it to release the lock.

20.    What kind of Tang? Full? Rat-tail? Half? etc...
Most commonly, you will have a full tang, which is a solid piece of metal almost the same breadth as the blade, running the butt to top of the handle, or a Rat-Tail, which is a rod running from the hand guard to the butt, which screws onto the end of the rod.
